Tasting Classes

Join Jerry as he teaches the basics up through the complicated concepts that are used in the wine, cider and spirits world. Classes last about two hours and include the wines or spirits for the evening along with small samplings of foods designed to enhance the class, lecture materials and tasting notes. Classes are limited to 8 guests and participation in the class must be purchased in advance through Eventbrite. Upcoming classes are listed below. All classes will be held at the Tasting Room at 70 Main Street in Delhi unless otherwise noted.

Wine 101 - Thursday February 17, 6PM

Designed to familiarize the guests with common wine terms, basic varietals, production methods, flavor profiles and the traditions associated with the world of wine in a casual environment with none of the snobbery associated with drinking this century old beverage. We'll start with something sparkling then taste through three whites and three reds. $79 per student.  TICKETS

Myth Busters - Thursday March 3, 6PM

Designed to disprove so many of the myths and misnomers about wine that we commonly believe to be true...opening a bottle to let it breathe, wine in screw tops is cheap, etc.  The tasting is done blind and I think will shock you once some of the bottles are revealed!  As much fun as it is educational, we guarantee you'll leave this class with a new appreciation for this centuries old beverage. $79 per student TICKETS

Distilling 101 - Thursday March 24, 6PM

Ever wonder how distilling actually works? What's a deflegmator?  Why do we even have to distill spirits? Learn the basics of taking a simple starting material such as corn, rye and barley and turning them into the ethereal elixir we call bourbon. The class will taste a variety of spirits while discussing how they are made. $79 per student   TICKETS

Cider 101 - Thursday April 7, 6PM

Join us as we take a look at the ever more complex world of hard apple cider around the state. Certainly, the beverage of choice of our Founding Fathers, cider continues to grow in popularity today. We explore the different styles including pear cider or Perrys, Cyser, a mead based apple drink and the increasingly exciting 'Pét-Nat' or Pétillant Naturel.   $69 per student  TICKETS

Wine Component Tasting - Thursday April 21, 6PM

Developing a wine vocabulary is one of the toughest things to establish as you're starting to really taste wine. A component tasting is designed to highlight specific components in wine so that you can begin to identify and speak confidently about what you're tasting. The class will learn about the seven most common wine components and two common flaws we can easily detect in our favorite bottle.  $79 per student  TICKETS
